Last night, my seven-year-old daughter and I shuffled sadly away from the Capitol Theatre in Salt Lake City. After hours on the phone and online during the initial sale and after days of searching online, we had gone to try our luck at securing a couple of reasonably-priced tickets to the hottest show in town, "Wicked". We tried the lottery (with a few hundred other hopefuls), we tried the box office (several times) and even tried holding a homemade sign that declared "Need 2 Tickets". Nothing worked. We were dejected but not defeated. Instead of giving up, I decided to put together a tour to see the "Popular" musical in Denver when the production makes its stop there in the fall. So, if you, like us, were disappointed and unable to see it here in Salt Lake or if you loved it so much and just have to see it again, we'd love to have you come along! Here is a tentative itinerary and pricing:
FRIDAY, NOVEMBER 13
2:00pm--Depart from the Salt Lake/Davis County area (specific place TBD) on a comfortable, deluxe motorcoach featuring restroom, reclining seats, lots of storage, wireless internet access, DVD and CD player and satellite television.
9:00pm--Arrive at Hampton Inn in Ft. Collins, Colorado, check in and relax, swim in the indoor heated pool, work out in the on-site gym or at the nearby 24-Hour Fitness (complimentary) or go to sleep.
SATURDAY, NOVEMBER 14

9:30am--All aboard the motorcoach and depart hotel.

Jill, Macy's, Victoria's Secret, White House Black Market and many more as well as several restaurants).
12:00pm--Back on the motorcoach.

Sounds fun, right? I think so too! I am not a professional tour operator or a crazy "Wicked" fan--I'm just someone who wanted to see the show with her daughter and thought this would be a fun way to do it. So, if you're in, let me know as soon as possible. I'd like to see if I can fill the tour before I get locked into any huge financial commitments so gather your girlfriends, your sister, your daughter, your mom, your husband or whoever else and reserve your spot today. I will place your name on the list but your spot will not be officially secured until I receive your deposit and signed Tour Contract. I accept checks, money orders or PayPal payments.
I will be using this blog to communicate, update and inform as the tour starts filling up, as plans become more firm and as the date gets closer so check back often. Please feel free to contact me with questions.
P.S. This would make a great Mother's Day gift!

I'm so sorry you missed the show. I was there last night and it was amazing! I found my ticket on KSL classifieds for only $100. I feel truly fortunate to have gotten such a good deal. I was on the mezzanine with a great view of the stage.
ReplyDeleteYour tour sounds interesting. Have you had much interest yet? Have you already purchased the tickets for Denver?
I will be checking back for updates.

Katy,
ReplyDeleteI'm glad you were able to see the show! I have had a lot of interest in the little time I've gotten the word out about it.
I have a block of tickets reserved through the box office there in Denver and as soon as I know the exact number I need I'll actually buy them. That way, I personally don't have to put up all the money up front and I won't get stuck with tickets that I may not need. I know the tickets there are selling out quickly so I'm glad we've got some.
Please check back often--hope you can come too!
