I was listening to the Wicked soundtrack for the first time last night and was getting very excited for our trip THIS weekend. It's coming up very quickly! And we've got two completely full buses--hooray! I've written up a lot of info that I thought I'd send to everyone and post on the blog so here it is. I've also attached itineraries and lists for both the small bus and big bus so that everyone knows where they're going. As always, let me know if you have any questions!
RANDOM NOTES AND INFO
Seating on the bus is first come, first served—no assigned seats. All will be filled so make sure you sit by someone you like!
We will have a DVD player on the bus that will play movies like in an airplane. If you have any good flicks you want to bring that we can all watch, please do (just make sure they’re appropriate for all ages). We will also have satellite TV to watch as well and if my girls have their way, be prepared for eight straight hours of Hannah Montana (just kidding…)
The bus will be equipped with wireless internet access so laptops are welcome. I’m not sure about electrical plugs, however, so plan accordingly.
I have made myself the big bus photographer and will be taking a lot of pictures along the way that I will post somewhere for everyone to access once we get back. I would love it if there is a volunteer who will do the same for the small bus so that those photos can be posted and accessed from the same place as well.
I just received my final seating chart from the theater this week. I am planning on having the tickets sent to the hotel and distributing them on Saturday morning. Most of the seats are close together in a big block and are in the back of the upper orchestra. I will do my best to put everyone together who wants to be together. Please keep in mind that I got the very best seats that were available—it was a fast selling show for a large theater and a long run and this is the only weekend day that was left when I bought them (way back in May when they first went on sale). The ladies in the Group Sales department that I’ve been working with have assured me that all the seats have unobstructed views and even though we are in the back of the theater, it was a much better choice than sitting in the balcony or mezzanine. I will do my best to distribute them the best way possible and I hope that everyone will be happy with their seats. I’ll just be happy to have a ticket to the show (which is a lot more than I can say for when it was here in Salt Lake!).
A couple of months ago, I sent out an email about the upgraded seats that miraculously became available. There was a total of 10. My little group took four and I offered the remaining six to whoever wanted them for an extra $20 per ticket (because they are in the Golden Circle section, they did cost a little more than the regular tickets). Initially, all six were taken but since then, one of the ladies has had to back out of the trip. So I’ve got one left for whoever wants it. The people who are currently sitting in these seats are: Jennifer Kofford, Avarie Kofford, Elleke Kofford, Eleanor Newman, Shanna Black, Lori Maughn, Linda Lewis, Michelle Sonderegger and Shannon Bursach. If you want to come sit by us, let me know. If I don’t get any takers, I will use it as one of the prizes for the drawing (and then you’ll be FORCED to come sit by us!). They are amazing seats—14 rows back in the center section.
As we are checking in to the hotel, please have someone in your room be prepared to give a credit card number for incidentals. I don’t want to be stuck with paying for all your late-night long distance calls to China or raids on the mini bar (for Diet Coke and Reese’s Peanut Butter Cups, of course).
There are a few nice hotels/motels in Layton and South Weber that are close to the Park and Ride lot. If you feel like you might be too tired to drive home when we get back, you may want to look into them as an option for Saturday night. I’d be happy to pass on more specific information to anyone who’s interested.
I’ve put together an Itinerary and Passenger List that you should have received via email. If you didn't, please let me know. Make sure to look them over and print out your itinerary so that there is no confusion about where and when you should be meeting your bus or about where and when you need to be during the trip. Also, if there is anyone in your group who does not use email, please try to get this information to them. Thanks!
If there is anything I haven’t answered here, please feel free to call or email me anytime. If I think of anything else or if I get a good question that everyone needs to know the answer to, I’ll get the word out. Everyone cross your fingers for good road trip weather and start packing--we leave in five days!
Get your green on!
P.S. Here’s contact info for the hotel and for me if you need to leave it with anyone here at home.

4 weeks and counting...
In exactly four weeks from right now, we will be driving across the Wyoming prairie and basking in the glow of all things Wicked. I can't believe we're that close! I have been working on the final arrangements with the hotel and charter company as well as putting together the goody bags. Don't report me to the child labor authorities but I'm pretty sure my three-year-old and seven-year-old will soon be working in what qualifies as a sweatshop once I start putting their little hands to work to help me out. Anyway, I will be posting and sending out the final news and information in the next couple of weeks so keep checking back so you stay in the loop. And if you're thinking about joining us still or you know someone who is, please send them my way! I have a few spots left and would love to fill them up. Dang, it was a nice day today--don't you just love fall?

just joining us?
If you're looking into snagging one of the last few highly-coveted spots, I just wanted to let you know that you can secure it with a signed Tour Contract and $50 deposit now and then the remaining balance would be due by October 15th. Seeing as how September 1st has passed (and I just decided to do the second bus in the middle of August), I thought I'd better give everyone who's just signing up now a little more time to pay off their balances if they need it. I can definitely work with you as well if we need to so please let me know if you need a little more time. Thanks!

Hey all! Just started a Facebook group to try to get the word out so I can fill up the remaining spots (right now it looks like I've got 17). Join up if you want--anyone is welcome! The group is called (no surprise) "Wicked Trip 2009". Heading to Swiss Days tomorrow to shop and do a little advertising. Maybe I'll see you there. Nighty night!

holy cow!
Where has the time gone? I can't believe summer is already over and the kids are back in school. What happened? It just gets us that much closer to our departure date though--how exciting!
So some things have been happening behind the scenes so I thought I'd just get everyone caught up to speed so here they are:
1. There are officially two buses. The large 56-seat bus will be leaving from Davis County and going the northern route through Wyoming. The small 29-seat bus will be leaving from Lehi and stopping in Crescent Junction, taking the southern route. We are planning to all meet up in Ft. Collins at the hotel. The reason for the two routes is that we have a large group from southeastern Utah that is going and this is a way to help reduce a huge amount of driving for them. Let's all cross our fingers that everything goes according to plan! The southern bus people have been contacted and you know who you are. If you don't know which bus you're on, let me know and I'll tell you.
2. I still have spots available! Because I added the second bus I now find myself needing to fill some seats--and I would love your help! As of right now I've got 3 on the small bus and 17 on the big bus. I'm doing as much (free) advertising as I can and if you've got any way to spread the word, please do. Pass on my contact info to anyone and everyone, send out emails to your family and friends, post it on your blog, hang a sign up at work or your gym, whatever! I'd really appreciate it.
3. For those of you who still owe a balance, the September 1st payoff date is looming. Feel free to contact me if you need to know how much you owe.
4. I'm finalizing room lists to pass along to the hotel and there are some issues that need to be worked out. Please let me know who you want to be in a room with so that I know who is going where and exactly how many rooms I need. I also need to make sure that there are four people to the rooms that paid for quads, three for triples, etc. Let me know if you have questions about this as well.
That's it for this post, I think. Hope everyone had a wonderful summer!

updates and info
I thought I'd post the updates and info I sent in last night's email just in case you're checking here so here it is:
DISCOUNT PAYOFF DEADLINE HAS COME AND GONE
The July 1st early bird discount deadline has passed. Oh my! I know from your paperwork that many of you were planning on the spectacular $199 price and to get that price, you were supposed to send in your balance by July 1st. Because I was out of town and because of the busy 4th of July holiday weekend, I did not send out a reminder email as I intended to. Therefore, I have decided to extend the deadline by a few days so that if you still want to get the discounted rate, you can. Your payment MUST be postmarked by July 15--otherwise, the price will go up by $20 per person. If you don't make this deadline, you still have until September 1st to pay off the balance. Let me know if you have any questions regarding the balance that you owe.
INCREDIBLE TICKETS!
I was talking, once again, to the lovely Tina today and she informed me that a block of 10 tickets 14 rows back in the center had just become available. Well, my friends, I jumped right on them! My little group is taking 4 of them leaving 6 available for anyone else who wants them. As I cannot, in good conscience, show any favoritism, it's a first-come, first-served thing. If you want one, email me back and let me know. I will distribute them in the order of replies I receive. Because they are better seats, they do cost a little more so if you want them, you will need to pay an additional $20 per ticket. Your payment must be postmarked by July 15. If it isn't, I will offer them to the next person on the list.
SECOND BUS?
I am so happy that the party bus is full! But, at the same time, I am sad that some people who want to go are unable to because I don't have the room. So, I'm thinking about contracting a second (smaller) bus that will take an additional 29 people. They'll get all the perks of the original trip (transportation on a deluxe motor coach, hotel, breakfast on Saturday, upper orchestra ticket to show, entry into drawings and goody bag), but just be on another bus. I've already reserved the tickets and spoken with the charter company and the hotel and everything looks good. Now all I need to know is if I can fill it up. If you know anyone who wanted to go but missed out or if you think someone else would want to come along, spread the word and tell them to let me know as soon as possible so I can make all the arrangements. Prices will be $219 for a quad, $239 for a triple, $249 for a double and $269 for a single and payoff deadline will be September 1st.
HAVEN'T YOU ALWAYS WANTED TO DRIVE ALL THE WAY ACROSS WYOMING?
There have been some questions about the route we are taking. As of now, the route will be up Weber Canyon on I-84, then onto I-80 through Wyoming and cutting down into Denver on I-25. It's the shortest and most direct route from Salt Lake/Davis County and our hotel is right on the way (about an hour north of Denver). Of course, weather can always be a factor, and we may have to take another way, but for now, the plan is to experience the wonderful sights and sounds of our sister state to the northeast. Also, I haven't yet finalized the departure point, but I'm 99.9% sure it will be the Park and Ride lot located in northern Davis County just off Highway 89 that was used during the Olympics. It's about a mile south of the on-ramp to I-84 which is right where we are headed. It's also close to my house in case I forget anything (like the tickets)...
SAY CHEESE!
I am making myself the official photographer of the trip and will be taking pictures of everyone as you're getting on the bus as well as some shots along the way. When we get back, I'll upload them all to a site (like SmugMug) where you can view them all and then save and print whatever you want. So be ready for your close up--you'll never know when the camera will be on you!
That's it for now. 127 days and counting!

hot tip
So I've made a few trips to Old Navy lately and I've noticed something--there is an abundance of cute EMERALD green tops all over the store! Even better, most of them are on sale. So if you've got an ON in your neighborhood, swing on by and pick up some Wicked green duds for the trip. Hope you're having a wonderful summer!
